Have you ever Skyped? I have and I love it. It's free and easy and you get to look at the other person you're chatting with, whether or not you're in your pajamas. My kids also think it's the greatest. They can't get over how they can see themselves and the other person they're talking with all at the same time. If you need to make long distance calls and don't want to pay for them you should try it. Oh but you have to have a video thing on your computer.
