A lot of you will remember a post I did a long time ago when I was frustratingly trying to paint an old cast-off utility wardrobe. Well I finished it and I loved it and it sold in uber fast antique dealer time!!!  yay!!

  1. This cabinet looks awesome. It would be so sweet in a nursery. I would love to visit your booth, but there is a little distance between CA and AL ;)
Thanks for the sweet comment about my home. The kitchen cabinets were dark stained before I painted them. It wasn't too hard. I just cleaned with TSP(?) and lightly sanded before priming with 2 coats with Gripper from Sherwin Williams. I foam rolled and brushed the crevices with 3 coats of paint. I didn't put poly on them because I didn't want them to yellow. The biggest tip I have is to paint the back side of the cabinet doors first. Primer and paint. That way you aren't flipping them over to do the opposite side with a simi dry coat of paint. I am way too impatient to let paint dry and I know the fronts of my cabinets would be all flawed if I hadn't completly finished the backs first!! Hope that helps!

  2. Hi Vanessa, thanks for the comment. My husband decided I'm not allowed to paint our cabinets - ha! Must have something to do with the fact I haven't finished painting the cabinets in our son's room. It's only been 3 years. Thanks for the detailed explanation. The cabinet man was here today to give me a quote - yay! Wish me luck. I will post before and afters.
